So many 20 and 30 somethings are getting married and then within in a few short years getting divorced, these marriages have come to be called “starter marriages.”

It frustrates me when someone finds a creative label for a painful phenomenon, as if a clever name takes care of it.

How to create a successful relationship

How to create a successful relationship is a crucial skill we need to learn but one rarely taught in school.

So the question becomes what do we do before we get married in order to have a successful marriage?

3 crucial factors

1. Choose well

Be aware of your own relationship radar - how you go about becoming attracted to certain people. If this radar is faulty, you are likely to become attracted to someone who may not be good for you.

In order to choose well, you may have to learn how to choose differently.

2. Pre-marital counseling

This is a great way to identify and work out some bugs early on. Whether you see a minister, a therapist, or a relationship coach, you can discover areas that might be challenging for your relationship and learn skills and techniques for handling the challenges.

Believing problems areas will automatically get better after marriage is a cruel myth. Without learning methods for managing differences, problems are almost guaranteed to get worse, not better.

3. Have a teachable spirit

This is without a doubt the most important skill.

Many people enter into marriage thinking they know how to do it right. I know I sure thought that way. I even had a license and degree on my wall that said I was a marriage and family expert.

Columnist Sydney J. Harris said:

“almost no one is foolish enough to imagine that he automatically deserves great success in any field of activity; yet almost everyone believes that he automatically deserves success in marriage.”

Read books, go to seminars, visit websites, receive newsletters, get good coaching when and before you need it.

You also need to learn from each other.

Teach each other how to be each other’s own unique partner.

The Democratic party is literally in the sewer when in comes to rebounding in the next election. In fact it is not looking too good for Hillary Clinton right now. The Democrats have tapped into wealthy folks and Arab groups to fund 80-million Dollars to fund think tank, which was reported in the Washington Post. This might have a good play at influencing the masses, although simply throwing money at the situation will not work, remember of course George Soros trying to change our elections here with his money? That did not work then and trying to baffle the public with Liberal BS may not work this time around.

We have seen how Liberal Think Tank groups operate when looking at Citizen.org which is run out of a “K-Street” law office and lobbyist firm in Washington D.C.. Citizen.org conveniently manipulates data, sends out press releases and plays the blame game. Sometimes they get people to bite, but more and more people only take their online news only to see what kind of crap they are purporting this week. Many just laugh at their persnickety attacks and most of the media takes their data, reports and claims with a grain of salt.

It would appear that spending $80 Million Dollars on Think Tanks to promote the liberal agenda is quite ridiculous indeed. If the issue was stem cells, all that will change as the Bush Administration leaves, so it is silly for these liberals to claim science as their domain, when the Republican Party, which is the party of entrepreneurialism and capitalism is really where it is at with regards to funding science and bringing killer applications to market. Where will the Liberals get all this money and support? And are they really smart enough to run think tanks, there ideals are not even duplicatable in reality, only in a LA LA Land dream.

They have done nothing more than promote hate and hokum in the last election and bringing an academic slant to think tanks has been done for years, so we really do not need any more think tanks, what we need is for liberal attack style politics to take a hike in their adored rain forests with their cell phones, GPS and SUVs. Don’t kid yourself wealthy liberals do not drive VW hybrids? The ones I know drive Hummers and Mercedes SUVs and they do not think, they react.

Sorry 80 million in Think Tanks ain’t going to do it, now or ever. No one is listening to the Democratic Party right now and they do not know what to do? Think on that.

Kudos goes out to the George Walker Bush’s Administration and long-term strategy in the world to take the high road in our foreign relations policy. Today we see relief donations coming in from around the world, why? Well because despite what you read in the newspapers about our Middle East efforts, it shows that we, America, is seen as a country with the right attitude and vision. We have helped people and nations around the world and now, in our time of need we see a reciprocal response.

Over 60 countries are sending us money, sending money to Red Cross, Salvation Army and to our relief efforts. We are having donations from Kabul, Qatar, Kuwait and we are talking some pretty large donations. One half Billion Dollars is coming from Kuwait, which is the largest donation from another country to any US Disaster in the history of our Nation. This is a testament to the fact that when your foreign policy does the right thing for the right reasons that you will find yourself respected by the others who, got rained on too and made it thru. We have Friends, yes in the middle east, thanks to foreign policies of the last three US Presidents and our efforts around this Globe. Think on that for a minute. Qatar is giving 100 million dollars to the Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts.

Additionally we have donations pouring in from the European Union Nations. The Countries of Britain, Denmark, Estonia, Austria, Belgium, France, Finland, Italy, Slovakia, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg, Slovenia, The Netherlands, Sweden and Spain and have pledged large donations as well. Apparently our foreign policy is bringing the world together.

You have to give kudos also to Condi Rice and her predecessor Colin Powell and the Presidents they served under. Our former Presidents Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton after the Tsunami Disaster also should be thanked. Even China has pledged a beginning donation of 5 million with more to follow as needed. South Korea is sending in 30 million dollars. WOW. North Korea, you thought that they were are enemy, we are working thru these issues diplomatically and they have contacted the Red Cross to see what they can do to help. The President of Venezuela has pledge fuel to the poor. All in all the world is a hell of a lot more united than we have led to believe from the mass world media hit on our nation during the Iraq war. It is unfortunate indeed that it took this Hurricane Disaster to see that the view that America is hated in the world purported by the World Media does not hold water any better than the breached levees in New Orleans.

This is proof that our foreign policy is inline with what must be done in the world to bring us all tighter and more united. For those who criticize the Bush Administration, I say to you; There is your Coalition, now unless you are “with us” and our efforts to help the relief
